Image slides vs editable text

Two conversion modes cover the two most common needs. Image Slides renders each PDF page as a high resolution picture and places it on its own slide. Nothing shifts, no font is substituted, and complex layouts, charts, and graphics come through exactly as they appear in the source PDF. This is the safest option when visual accuracy matters more than editing the text.

Editable Text instead reads the text layer of the PDF and rebuilds it as real PowerPoint text boxes on each slide, so you can click into the content, retype a sentence, or change the font once it is open in PowerPoint. Layouts with heavy graphics or unusual fonts may look simpler in this mode since only the text is recreated, not the exact visual styling.

Choosing a slide size

• Match PDF Page: the recommended default. The presentation's slide size is set to your PDF's own page dimensions, so every page fills its slide exactly, no cropping, stretching, or padding bars.
• Widescreen 16:9: the current PowerPoint default. Use this if you need the deck to match a 16:9 template or projector regardless of the source PDF's shape; pages with a different proportion are centered rather than distorted.
• Standard 4:3: the older presentation aspect ratio. Useful if you are inserting slides into an existing 4:3 deck or presenting on older equipment.

What affects conversion quality

Image mode produces consistent, high fidelity results regardless of how complex the PDF layout is, since each page is captured as a single image. Editable mode works best on PDFs with a clean text layer and simple layouts; PDFs made of scanned images have no extractable text and should use image mode instead. High resolution image quality is recommended for slides that will be projected on a large screen; standard resolution keeps the file small for quick email sharing or web upload.
